Redmond Insurance Brokers Limited was founded on Sept. 01, 1970, originally named Vincent B. Redmond Insurance Agency. On Sept. 01, 1972 the Insurance Accounts of Brown Agency were purchased from Mr. Wilfred Brown of Sydney Street, Cornwall. The Brown Agency had been founded in 1946. The firm was incorporated in March 1973, to be known as Redmond Insurance Agency Limited. On July 31, 1975 the Insurance Accounts of Vern Abernathy Insurance Agency were purchased. Mr. Abernathy’s firm had operated continuously from 1946. On March 1st, 1976 the firm purchased the Insurance Accounts of Larry Keen Insurance Agency Limited, which included the Accounts of McDougall, Alguire & Lill, which had been previously purchased by Larry Keen. At this time, Redmond Insurance Agency Limited moved to its’ present location at 514 Second Street West, Cornwall, Ontario.

Redmond Insurance Brokers Limited is registered with the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario ( RIBO ) to transact all forms of Insurance other than Life Insurance. On Oct. 01, 1981, with the advent of self regulation and in accordance with Section 36 (2) of the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario Act, Redmond Insurance Agency Limited became Redmond Insurance Brokers Limited.
